Case 8: Designing a Worldwide Conference to Achieve Specific Results
Client Situation:
The Human Resources function of a global organization wanted to bring together top HR leaders for a worldwide conference focused on creating a shared vision for the future. This would be the first such conference ever held for this global function (of this magnitude).
Solution:
Cooke Consulting Group worked with a design team and the HR Leadership Team members to develop the overall plan for each segment of the weeklong conference. We wanted to ensure that each ½ day segment (focused on a different strategic objective) was interactive and engaging, invited creative input, and provided maximum opportunity for networking (which was rare for this group).
Results:
Senior management was quite pleased with the conference. Feedback
from participants confirmed that objectives were met and leaders
in attendance felt it was a valuable use of their time. They requested
that it take place annually, and senior management has committed
to holding another conference in about 18 months.
